The Retentionist. Turning one-time buyers into regulars

Editorial policy

Sourcing, benchmarks, corrections and disclosure.

Sourcing

Retention metrics and campaign results are taken from named platform reports, published datasets or merchant case studies, and are linked at the bottom of each article with the date we checked them. We do not print numbers we cannot source.

Benchmarks

Benchmark articles state their sample composition, collection method and time window. Historical values are never edited retroactively; corrections are appended with a date.

Teardowns and estimates

Flow teardowns are based on real emails and messages we received or built. Where a real range exists (for example, repeat purchase rates that vary by vertical), we publish the range and the assumptions, not a single invented number.

Corrections

Errors are corrected in the article with a dated note. Request a correction at desk@theretentionist.com.

AI assistance

Articles on this site are drafted with AI language models, working only from the sources, benchmarks and data described above. Every article carries a short "AI-drafted from sourced data" note next to its byline for exactly this reason.

Affiliate and referral links

Some of our coverage links to UTD's own Shopify themes, alongside independent tools and services we cover the same way. Some links may earn the publication a commission. Neither UTD's ownership of this site nor any commission ever decides what we cover or how tools rank; recommendations follow the published numbers.
